HTML1 is introduced to much fanfare (from like 30 people) Wooooo!

The browser wars begin. Lynx, Viola, Mosaic and more.

HTML2 is introduced. PHP is born. Wooooooooooooo!

Brett starts working with HTML. There is no word for how much he kills it. Years later, the term "pwn" is coined.

Joe starts experimenting with HTML. Can you say tables? Can you say 'yuck'?

CSS and JavaScript are spec'd and implemented, though not widely. Not widely at all.

HTML4 is introduced to actual fanfare. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

CSS2 is introduced and is pretty much only adopted by IE.

Alex starts his foray into the world of web development and never looks back.

XHTML1 is born.

Table-less web design becomes standard. Joe rejoices.

Bart, Colleen and Max get to start web developing without any of the excess baggage associated with tables or not having CSS.

Agency Fusion is founded.

Ruby on Rails is made open source.

AJAX is introduced.

Amazon launches AWS and the "cloud" is born.

HTML5 is introduced and it solves all of the world's problems, except for Internet Explorer.
